10-day beach vacation
99% of people can't do this
Hellllllloooooo copywriter!
This week, I’m off on an adventure.
My pregnant wife Jenny and I (alongside our 3 and 5 year old daughters) are on a road trip.
We drove out 4 hours to the coast to visit family, friends, and soak up some time at the beach. Pacific ocean 🌊.
And it reminded me of something important I often take for granted.
Most people can’t do this.
Most people can’t just up and decide to go on a 10 day vacation.
They have to ask their boss permission.
Months in advance.
For 1-2 weeks max.
And even then it’s not guaranteed, especially during busier times.
Or if some co-workers are already taking that specific time off.
And… when you do end up taking your vacation, your boss and coworkers make you feel guilty about it. Like you abandoned them. Leaving them to fend for themselves. While you take your selfish vacation.
By the time you get on that trip, it takes a few days to unwind from the corporate machine. To stop thinking about the two dozen tasks on your plate. The passive aggressive email your boss sent you before you left. All the extra work that’s piling up back at the office with every day that passes.
It’s VERY hard to relax on vacation when you know the dread waiting for you when you step back into “reality.”
By the time you unwind. Stop thinking about work. And finally relax. The vacation is more than halfway over. And you got a little glimpse of paradise before it slips away.
Until your next trip 6-12 months from now. Where you do it all over again.
THE CORPORATE RAT RACE SUCKS.
And I know firsthand because I lived it for years.
I was in the workforce for 10 years. Went from job to job. Boss to boss. Machine to machine.
Always promised more money, more time, and more freedom.
But every chain on those golden handcuffs squeezed me tighter into the trap.
Extra money went to numbing myself on the weekend to forget my Monday-Friday.
And every year, I seemed to work longer hours… more demands. More responsibilities.
But no increase in freedom or happiness.
It wasn’t until I decided enough’s enough and went all in on my copywriting business that I finally found my freedom.
Now, here I am, sitting here in the passport office in Vancouver, Canada.
During my 1 hour wait, I whipped open my laptop, and got work. The beauty of an online business. My office is anywhere in the world with a wifi connection.

I’m here, waiting for my 10-year passport. So I can cross the border into America in a few days.
To take my kids and in-laws to a beachfront cottage in northern Washington near Seattle. Just to relax. Build sand castles. And visit the local candy shop.
And stuff myself with Chick-fil-A (and other scrumptious American delicacies we simply don’t have up here in Canada).
I didn’t have to ask a boss permission to take this trip.
I didn’t have to let my coworkers know they’ll be able to “hang in there” without me for a while and I’ll be back soon to help.
I didn’t have to request this months in advance. We decided last week we’re coming out here. And now we’re here.
And most importantly… I’m not stressed out thinking about the dread that awaits me when I finish my vacation and head back home.
I don’t live a life I need to escape from anymore. My life doesn’t revolve around my work anymore.
My work revolves around my life.
And that’s only possible because I took a chance on freelance copywriting 7 years ago.
If you’re done running the corporate hamster wheel round and round.
And you’re sick and tired of the rat race you’ve been on these past few years (or few decades)…
And you want a way out?
So you can finally call the shots in your life. To work when you want. Play when you want. Travel when you want. With whoever you want.
Then you may want to consider applying to my August 1:1 coaching program.
It’s likely the last time I’ll be doing an intake for coaching until November. That’s because Jenny’s prengant. And baby’s due in September. So I’m committed to my current 1:1s but will be spending more time snuggling baby and changing plenty of diapers pretty soon, so will be putting a puase on taking new 1:1 students.
If you want me to work with you one-on-one. Where I give you a custom gameplan for the rest of 2026. To build your copywriting skills so you’re confident to pitch clients. To show you exactly how to outreach (and review every outreach you send so it’s good enough to close clients).
To review all of your copy. Tell you exactly what to work on every week. So you’re never left guessing.
All based on my 7 years experience generating millions in revenue for 7 and 8-figure brands. Landing dozens of clients along the way.
And everything that’s worked for my 1,200+ copywriting students…
Then reply with the word “August” to hear the details now.
Brandon “on holiday” Storey
P.S. Only two spots left. Remember, I will likely not be offering 1:1 coaching for a few months. So it may be your last chance to get my support before 2027.
