What made you get into copywriting?
Hey, it’s Brandon.
I have a quick question for you:
What made you get into copywriting?
For me, i just wanted more freedom.
Always felt like there was more to life than going to a 9 to 5 Monday to Friday for 40+ hours a week.
Felt like I was trading 5 days of mundane living for 2 days of fun.
But even on Sundays I would dread Mondays. So it was more like 1 day of fun before being slapped back into reality of what was coming the week ahead.
I wanted more time. I hated my commute. Hated working in a toxic work environment. Being overworked, underpaid.
Hated seeing my wife, Jenn come home from work stressed out, overworked herself, and underappreciated.
Couldn't stand the thought of working 12 hour days anymore. How would I have time for my future kids?
I wanted to quit. I wanted more time. I wanted autonomy. I wanted Jenn to be able to have full freedom to do whatever she wanted (whether that's working full time or being an awesome mom to our kids).
I wanted to travel. To see the world. And not have to ask for a vacation. And then feel guilty about it by my boss and coworkers for ditching them.
I wanted to not have to stress anymore. To work on things I didn't want to work on.
I just wanted to be in control. Of my time. My freedom. My income. My location.
I just wanted the power to choose.
And I now have that. And I'm forever grateful to God for giving me a skill and a business that lets me be more present for my family. And have the capacity to help others.
I failed in 5+ businesses over 5 years. While working 5 different jobs in that timeframe.
Just trying to make it work.
To find that freedom I was looking for.
Everything really did change when I dove into copywriting.
Next to giving my life to God, it was the best decision I ever made for my family.
It’s been 7 years since I dove fully in. Made over $850,000 in the process. Retired my wife Jenny. Fully providing for my family of 5. Get to spend time with my daughters whenever I want. Live and travel anywhere, like Canada, US, Thailand, Italy, Australia.
I used to wake up in anxiety and dread what was ahead of me.
Now I wake up in complete peace, excited for what’s to come each and every day.
And it all started with that decision to dive in.
So…
What made you start copywriting?
